The Beauty Within

I went to see my cousin down in Irvine on Sunday. He has a nice decent size house (note, house, not condo, meaning he doesn’t share walls, and he has a small front and back yard) which he shares with some roommates. It occurred to me that it’s been 5 years since I last saw him, so off to the land of oranges I went.

One of his roommate is a friend of ours from high school. Apparently I helped him in Algebra way back in middle school, and helped him get an A since we had a group final together. Apparently he also sat next to me.. but honestly, I don’t remember. I guess he was too quiet? But yay, I helped someone get an A way back in the day. YAY ME!

Anyhow.. so not the point…

One of his roommate is a girl who I’ve never met (since you know.. I haven’t visited him since he started school), so when my cousin introduced me, her reaction was..

“Wait.. that’s your COUSIN?!??!”

So what if there is very little family resemblance or actual shared blood, but yes… cousin! I guess we just look too different.  I suppose if he got eye surgery to make his eyes bigger and rounder, we might look more similar??

But the boys are fun… they both changed a lot in high school, but somehow, years of college later, they look like how they did back in middle school.  One gained weight then lost it, another lost weight then gained it back.  So in my eyes, nobody has changed.
