Gel Moisturizers - Boots No. 7

May 29th, 2008 · No Comments

My first experience with a gel moisturizer was disastrous.  I read somewhere that people with oily skin would benefit from gel moisturizers because it’s light yet it still hydrating.  So why was my first experience so horrible?  It was.. the product.. a product that the brand itself no longer carries.   This product which I won’t name (since the company doesn’t carry it anymore so there’s no need to warn people to NOT buy it) did not hydrate like it was advertised, and made my face even oilier.  I had my friend try it out, and she had the same result as me - an oilier face.

It was not til Boots No. 7 made it over the pond to Targets all over the nation that I fell in love with gel moisturizers.  Their Rebalancing Day Gel was light, yet creamy and hydrating, and it felt so relaxing.  The skin quickly absorbs it, but unless a lot of other thin moisturizers that’s meant for oily skin, this does not dry out at all.  I don’t know why I stopped using it, perhaps because I wanted to try out other moisturizers, but I was so happy to return to this, even after trying out Clinique’s Moisture Surge Extra.

I will review Clinique’s Moisture Surge Extra in another post, but overall, I think Boots No. 7’s Rebalancing Day Gel works much better.
