Since graduating from college, my skin has improved soo much. My old roommate even commented on how good my skin looked, and that means a lot since she’s seen me at my worst.
So I got a bit cocky about acne treatments and concealers. Sure, I have a benzoyl peroxide cream at home, a bottle of 2% salicylic acid gel, and my trusty box of Salonpas, the magical pimple treatment. I also have the handy Secret Camouflage from Laura Mercier in my make up bag. But hey, my skin was improving! All I needed was some foundation and I was set!
Then I read this article from Dr. Benabio recommending Neutrogena’s SkinClearing® oil-free concealer as good acne concealer. I love a good recommendation, and who else aside from other beauty junkies love buying new products as much as me?
So I went to the store, and I stared at this stick of green concealer on the shelf for a while. It was around $7, and although I’m known to drop a lot more dough on other beauty products that I don’t need, I thought to myself, “well… I haven’t gotten paid yet and I still have this and that to pay off.. so.. nah. Besides, I haven’t had a big red pimple in a long time, so I don’t need it.”
B I G M I S T A K E!!!!!
As soon as those thoughts popped up in my mind, my skin started to break out. First my skin felt more oily than usual, which I thought was OK and even normal since I haven’t been sleeping much since I was moved to the graveyard shift (more on that later). But still, no big red pimple so I didn’t need to really worry.
A few days later, what do I see on my big ass forehead?
You got it. A big ass red pimple that’s right in my face (literally) saying “booya.. You thought you saw the last of me homegirl, but you were WRONG!”
So… it’s time for me to make another run to the store to pick up Neutrogena’s SkinClearing® oil-free concealer. This baby is going to take a few days to treat, but in the mean time, I really need this new concealer!
