End of the Year Survey-2007

December 9th, 2007 · 1 Comment

I’m copying this from my friend Anh’s Xanga site. Anh is one of those girls that I truly admire. She’s got spunk, intelligence, ambitious, and she’s just so well-read. I seriously wish I can be as deep as her at times, and I can draw these relations between society and literature and history and everything. I can NEVER ever do that. When I try, it feels so shallow and incomplete. Anyhow.. I’m copying her survey. =D

1) What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?
I graduated from college, looked for full time jobs, did Southern blots.

2) Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t ever remember the NY resolutions I make, and I don’t think I’ll make any.

3) Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, but my sis’ best friend did get preggie!

4) Did anyone close to you die?
Fortunately no.
5) What countries did you visit?
None.. :(

6) What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
More drive, more knowledge, more wisdom, and an idea of what I really want in terms of a career.

7) What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
05/05/07 - Lotus Steps 2007, 6/15/07/6/16/07 - Graduation, and 9/24/-7 - first day of first full-time job!

8) What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Graduating from school, which unknown to a lot of people, was a struggle for me. Being on e-board of CCDC and pulling off a pretty successful year.

9) What was your biggest failure?
Not knowing what I want in life.

10) Did you suffer illness or injury?
I injured my knee (most likely sprain, but didn’t go for an MRI like I was suppose to) and was sent to the ER.

11) What was the best thing you bought?
I think the cutest thing that I bought was my Angry Asian Girl bag.

12) Whose behavior merited celebration?
My hubby! He’s been such a saint through out this difficult year, putting up with my bitching, my depressing/maniac episodes, and my awful awful spending habits.

Of course everyone around me was wonderful. My mommy, my daddy, and all my sisters.. <3 <3 <3
13) Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
I would think my own. I don’t think I was the best person that I could be, and I wasn’t responsible enough.

14) Where did most of your money go?
Cosmetics

15) What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Not having classes anymore!! And getting paid every 2 weeks

16) What song(s) will always remind you of 2007?
All of the Mayday songs, because I got super into them in 2007.

17) Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? happier
b) thinner or fatter? same
c) richer or poorer? richer

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

26) What was your greatest musical discovery?
Mayday!

A cosmetics related job

Mild Seven..

34) Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Masi Oka.. he’s awesome and sooo smart!

35) What political issue stirred you the most?
I don’t get stirred politically anymore.. I figure all politicians and lobbyists are stupid and need to take some more science courses..

I always miss my daddy because I don’t get to see him as much as I’d like. I also miss a lot of my CCDC friends.

37) Who was the best new person you met?
Well.. I think all my coworkers are awesome, and I’m glad to have met them and befriend them.

38) Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007:
Being overqualified isn’t always a good thing

39) Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
The lyrics to Mayday’s song Trash Truck.. here’s an English translation (from onedayinmay.net)

Although you’ve got a bad temper, you’re mean to your friends,
And you’re always blaming other people for your own mistakes,
It’s good you happened upon me, I’ve never loved making calculations,
But I can still determine that this bad person has a good soul

I’ll walk, you can ride; you eat, I’ll wash the dishes; if you’re being bullied, I’ll risk my life to come to your rescue
If it can make you happy, I’ll endure any suffering, because the fate that brings us together can’t be broken apart

Because I have you I’m not lonely anymore, having you to keep me company, means I have someone to lean on
If it’s what you’d like, I’ll be your garbage truck, every day listening to your concerns
Because I have you I’m not lonely anymore, having you to keep me company, means I have someone to lean on
If it’s what you’d like, I’ll be your garbage truck, every day singing songs for you

Let’s drink to our friendship, drink to the bottom of the class,
Enjoy this glass together,
This glass you’ll drink, this glass I’ll drink,
Together we’ll drink this whole bottle

Because I have you I’m not lonely anymore, having you to keep me company, means I have someone to lean on
If it’s what you’d like, I’ll be your garbage truck, every day listening to your concerns
Because I have you I’m not lonely anymore, having you to keep me company, means I have someone to lean on
If it’s what you’d like, I’ll be your garbage truck, every day singing songs for you
