The Beauty Within

I haven’t blogged in soo long!  So sorry to the few people that do read it.  SORRY!!  Even more apologies for those that read it for the beauty aspect, because I won’t be blogging about that today.  I do have some beauty related stuff coming up though!

First things first… I, along with a few other women that participates on the Beauty Brain forum, have been invited to be product reviewers for the main site!  Yep!  My review will be on a huge and successful beauty blog.  I can’t wait for my products to arrive so I can try it out and write an honest, insightful, and fun review.

Second, I’ve gotten a small web design gig!  My old dance club works with a non-profit organization called Families with Children from China, where the young adopted girls and their friends can try out to be in our club’s Junior Dancer program.  Some parents and their daughters have been around for ages, and when the president of the SoCal chapter needed a website to be designed and maintained, she approached me!  I really hope I do a good job for her and design a site that she likes.

Third, I’m applying to be work over the Holiday season at Macy’s.  I applied for a cosmetic sales position and hopefully I’ll get it.  I think I know my products and have the personality to push them.  I will not resort to the ol’ “everything in here is all natural” line that the counter guy at Clarins tried giving me, because it’s just BS and I don’t want to lie to women!!!

So that’s pretty much what I’ve been doing lately.  Over the weekend I had hot pot TWICE, so I’m feeling super stuffed.  The boys (Will and his friends) have been planning on having hot pot for 2 weeks, so they were super excited when Saturday came around.  One of the boy’s, Sean, parents work in China, so he’s alone in a house that can easily host 20 people.  There was only about 10 people total for the hot pot session, but 4 guys showed up later to drink.  I brought my little Kitty (a person nicknamed Kitty) with me so I won’t be bored while the boys are playing, and we had fun!  Kitty was trying to get all the big coins in Super Mario, so we turned to Will and Nate, 2 super gamers, to help us find it.  Will gave up but Nate came through, and found pretty much every single coin for Kitty.  I don’t really drink (wine coolers!), nor does Kitty (wine coolers!), so I was glad to have company.  The funnest part of the night was me telling Aaron (another friend) to stop putting lettuce in the soup, because I’ll be getting stuff out and he’ll be putting lettuce in.  For those who don’t know, I’m somewhat picky about my food, especially after all those microbiology classes and pathogenesis classes, so him putting raw food into a pot means I have to wait until everything boils again before I take food out.  He ended up calling me the “pot master”, which doesn’t sound so good since it’s like calling me a “weed master”, and I don’t smoke weed!!  Oh well, it was fun.  Will and I came home and rushed to the bathroom because we were THAT stuffed.

Then today (Sunday), Sean called and asked if we wanted to go over and have hot pot again.  He had found some squid stuff and other yummy tempura in his freezer, plus there were so much meat left from yesterday.  It was just Sean, his GF, Will, and me there so we all got stuffed, again.  There’s just something so fun and tasty about Taiwanese style hot pot!

I gotta head to bed now because I’m dead tired.  I promise I’ll blog a beauty product review soon (Boots Botanicals Wipes), and more updates on what I’ve recently purchased.  Good night and have a great week!!
