The Beauty Within

Sorry I haven’t updated in forever and a day.  Last week was extremely hectic, I’m surprised I got through it all.

Tuesday: Lab report due.  Normally that’s fine, but I didn’t work on it while I was at home!  So bad me!

Wednesday:  102 Midterm #2.  I didn’t do well because I did not study over the weekend.  I crammed like crazy but it didn’t really work out so well.

Thursday:  My catch up day.  Actually Wednesday night was my catch up day where I read all the stuff I haven’t gone over.  Busy and tiring Wednesday night.

Friday:  E-board meeting and Hirsch Lab get together.  The e-mail I got had something about blinding white guy in speedos, but luckily I had to leave early for the e-board meeting, so I was spared of seeing a blinding white guy in speedos.  Am I spelling them right?  Speedoes, speedos???

Saturday:  Performance at Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles’ Lunar New Year Celebrations in Chinatown.  We performed at 10:30, so in order to get there on time, have time to practice, change, and prepare so we aren’t rushed, the call time was 8:30 AM.  The performance went really smoothly, and I’m very happy about it.

Sunday:  CCDC Progress Check and 2nd Annual Chinese New Year Banquet.  Again, call time was 8:30.  It was physically tiring because I was sleepy, and also because the dances are um, a bit physicallly demanding.  Banquet was super yummy, and I’m definitely going back to that restaurant.  Afterwards I went into lab, where this and that wasn’t right, so I had to make a lot of solutions.  Basically I had to make new Urea because I had placed my old batch of 8 M Urea and 2% BME in the -20 degree C freezer, rather than the -80 degree C freezer.  Why did I do that, well.. I was told I had to freeze it, so I did!  Then I was 100ml short of PBS, and that took forever to make since the sodium phosphate anhydrous takes forever to dissolve.

This entire week, the earliest I slept was 3 AM, and the “latest” I got up at was 9 AM.  Shitty huh?

On the other hand, I got my schedule sorted out for next quarter.  I don’t have classes on Mondays and Fridays (omg FIRST TIME EVER), and I don’t start class til 11 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  The latest I end is 2.  Everything is so compacted and tight.  The only yucky part is running from one class to the other.

I have new piggy art.  I’ll be posting it up later this week.  My friend got so inspired she helped me draw a 3rd piggy (a 3rd?  But what do you mean?!?!??).  Can somebody PLEASE send me a small sketch book as a gift so I can draw them down right when I get ideas rather than drawing them on a white board whenever I remember?
