Moisture Recovery ShampooI guess from the limited picture I have on this site, it’s hard for people to tell how my hair is. Well, let me try to describe it a bit. I’ve placed my hair under all different sorts of pain in the past 6/7 years. It’s been dyed many different colors, highlighted a million times, and most recently, permed. Anyone can tell you how damaging all those processes are to hair, and most people would expect my hair to be completely dried and fried. But guess what? It’s not. I probably have softer hair than most people who have never chemically altered their hair, and except for a few months in HS when I wasn’t properly conditioning my hair, it’s always been that one.

My secret? Good hair care. If there’s one thing I cannot stop splurging on, it’s quality hair products. Although it’s true that price does not equate quality, some higher end shampoos are just the best thing I have ever used. That is not saying that all expensive high end products are good though; I spent a bunch of a brand called Enjoy, and that was the worst purchase I’ve ever made. Anyhow, I still haven’t revealed my “secret”.

ConditionerCurrently, it’s Joico’s Moisture Recovery Shampoo and Conditioner. I’ve been a fan of Joice since the first time my stylist used Joico’s K-Pak Shampoo and Conditioner on me. It’s so thick and it smells so good. The conditioner also somehow grabs onto your hair so you only need a small amount to work through your hair. That holds true for their Moisture Recovery line. The shampoo is very soft and creamy, yet it still cleanses extremely well. The conditioner isn’t too oily or thick, but it’s just thick enough to coat through all my hair (and I have a lot), and moisturize it. I think the ingredients are pretty standard, but the formula is great. They claim that it’s the “Hydramine Sea Complex” that’s making their product so moisturizing, but The Brains over at The Beauty Brains will tell you that the “Hydramine Sea Complex” has very little function, and is mostly a marketing ploy. It is on the pricey side, but here’s my last secret: Make friends with your stylist and they’ll hook it up with discounts when they can.

I’ll post up a picture of my hair one day. After I go get a root touch up next week.

I don’t think I’ve seen your perm yet! It’s good that you’re taking care of your hair at such a young age =)
