Scaring Neighbors

November 30th, 2006 · No Comments

Hello,

My name is Gloria and I scare neighbors.

I didn’t mean to scare my neighbor intentionally, but I think she’s pretty damn scared.  Last night, I came home from studying at school around 2:30 am.  I notice that my neighbor left her keys (car, apartment, and who knows what else) in the key hole.  I knocked on her door about three times, but there was absolutely no response.  I had to pee so I gave up.  At about 4, I saw my extremely thoughtful friend on aim, so I asked her what I should do.  She suggested that I put the keys inside her door and leave a note with it.  I wrote a note, went there, knocked, and again, no response.

Since her key was already in her key hole, I used it to open the door.  There was resistance, so I pushed a little bit, and I heard commotion.  She was like, “hold on, wait!”, so I stand in front of the door looking like my dopey I-need-to-sleep self.  The girl opens her apartment and asks a bunch of questions like, “where did you find the keys?”, and “I get so scared” (totally understandable given that I find the guy that lives right next to her extremely freaky).  I tried to explain that she left her keys in the key hole, and I knocked a few times, and I was going to leave it inside the door with a note.  She’s still freaked out, and asks if

1.  I live in the complex (why yes I do, I live in that unit right there)

2.  Was I the manager (nope, just a concerned neighbor)

3.  What my name is (Gloria!!  She then told me her name was something like Michelle)

She eventually thanked me and closed the door.  I still think she’s freaked out though, but hopefully she won’t be leaving her keys on the keyhole anymore!
